DIY this spring at The Center

The Center’s theme this spring is DIY or Do-It-Yourself. Everyone loves a good DIY project and most are easier than you think. In fact, many of our classes are either DIY or ones that will ignite a new passion or revive an old one.

The expert faculty members of the Center for Continuing Education will give you step-by-step guidelines to create your own projects. We’ll teach you how to make a flower arrangement for a special event, improve your business writing, create a photo book, knit a sweater, prepare gluten free meals, upload cool photo apps to your iPhone or iPad, sew a pillow, paint with oils & acrylics, speak Italian, or enhance the visibility of your website.

Most people enjoy reading (hence our popular Short Stories class) but many have “writer’s block” when it comes to writing.  Develop a new passion and learn to write!  Our nurturing and supportive classes will help you with your memoir, review basic grammar, and teach you the technical skills when writing fiction or a children’s book.

A frequent call to our office sounds like this “I learned a language or how to play bridge years ago and am interested in picking it up again, where do I start?” Right here, at the Center! We offer many languages at various levels. This winter a group called about learning bridge, so we created a class for them. Our goal is to help you continue to learn.

As you browse through our over 160 classes, challenge yourself and look for a course that’s a bit out of your comfort zone.  Have fun while you develop a new passion, meet new friends, and create a DIY project!

See you in the classroom.
