Join or Die Screening and Community Conversation — May 7 at Mamaroneck High School

Thank you to everyone who joined us on May 7 for the “Join or Die” documentary Screening Community Event at Mamaroneck High School!
It was an energizing evening filled with new connections, thoughtful dialogue, and a shared dedication to civic life in our community. View the interview on LMC Media:

A Conversation That Sparked Action

We were honored to welcome co-director Rebecca Davis to the event. She shared powerful behind-the-scenes insights and the driving message behind the film.
Her conversation with Joe Liberti, Mamaroneck High School teacher and director of the Original Civic Research and Action (OCRA) program, sparked meaningful discussion.
Together, they explored how civic and social connections can strengthen communities.

Clubs That Build Community

We also want to thank the local clubs and organizations that participated in the club fair.
Groups like the League of Women Voters, the Girl Scouts, and many others showed what local engagement looks like in action.
Through their presence, they offered real ways to get involved and make a difference right here in Mamaroneck.

Why Civic Engagement Matters

Join or Die, inspired by Robert Putnam’s Bowling Alone, delivers a clear message: community participation matters.
It’s not only good for democracy—it’s good for your health, happiness, and sense of belonging.
When we connect with others, we build stronger, more resilient communities.
